FISHER GARDEN TOUR 2008
This tour raised over $10,000 in 2006, which began the funding for
Kids4Peace. In 2007 we raised over $20,000 for the Incarnation Haiti
Initiative, which is being used to build a school in Cange, Haiti. Once
again 100% of the 2008 proceeds will continue our school building in Haiti.
Tickets are one sale at the church for $25.00. You can order tickets
over the phone 828-526-2968 (we take MasterCard or Visa). Or you can come
by the church on the corner of 5th and Main Street.
The dates are July 5th, July 19th, July 26th, and Aug. 2nd. You can
purchase tickets for 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, or 1:00. Everyone must meet
at the Macon Bank Gazebo to get a pass for the tour.
New this year is a PLANT LIST (click to
get a PDF list of a comprehensive plant list)
There will also be a conservation dimension to the tour.
Who?
We need you! This tour is a perfect opportunity for someone who loves plants,
loves Incarnation, loves meeting new people, and has a passion for outreach.
Some of you did this last year, so you know the drill. Some of you are being
asked as you read this email.
The needs are:
6 docents to be on the grounds, and answer questions about plants, garden
locations, history, etc.
2 people at the Macon Bank Gazebo to send off carpools to the Fisher's estate,
and entrance pass (name tags).
5 parking attendants to help people find spaces, and shuttle people from parking
to the garden (minivans needed).
Please respond by indicating the dates you would like to volunteer. We are
hoping to create two teams of 13-15 people. If you know anyone else who would be
interested, feel free to forward this email to them.
What's new?
This year we will feature a conservation dimension to the tour (information
about ways to personally improve the environment).
We will also have a PLANT LIST! In the interest of conservation, we will charge
$1 for this list, which will be available for those who would REALLY
like one.
