Adult Education classes typically meet in
two groups: Bible Study and Contemporary Theology. They come together for a few meetings with
the rector, called the Rector's Forum.
Current Classes:
Contemporary theology
Beginning March 14 and going through
March 28, the Contemporary Theology will focus on a book titled
Christian America and the Kingdom of God. The
author examines the characterization of America as a Christian nation
and draws upon the biblical descriptions of the qualities of the
kingdom of God to assess that claim. Summaries of the ideas will
be given by Peter Ray, who will be leading the discussions which
follow.
The class will not meet on Easter
Sunday, April 4.
Beginning on April 11, and continuing
through the end of April, Brian Sullivan will be leading the class in
discussions based on a book by Mark Ian Barasch,
The
Compassionate Life: Walking the Path of Kindness.
This book explores the spiritual origins
of compassion, empathy, and kindness and the scientific affects these
practices have on the self and others.
Classes
begin at 9:00 am. All Welcome!
