Each den needs to fill the following positions from its parents.
1. Den Leaders (2) – Each den must have at least one registered den leader. The den leaders are responsible for the weekly den meetings. Experienced leaders in the pack will provide help to get you started. Den leaders are the most important and also usually the most rewarding positions in the Pack.
2. Pack Committee Representative -- Represents the den at the Pack Committee meetings. Generally takes on one Pack level position for the Pack Committee.
3. Popcorn Chair -- Oversees the den sales effort for Popcorn. Sales go on from Sept. – Oct.
4. Pinewood Derby Committee (2) -- Helps with the Pinewood Derby, which is run in late January to early Feb. One person helps with the Derby Diner (concessions) while the other helps with the race.
5. Blue & Gold Banquet Committee -- Helps with the Blue & Gold Banquet which is held the end of February to celebrate the birth of Scouting. The Blue & Gold Banquet is a family dinner which is combined with the February Pack meeting.
6. Raingutter Regatta Committee -- Helps with the Raingutter Regatta Race, which is usually held the first Saturday after school is out in June.
7. July 4th Flag Retirement Committee -- Helps with the July 4th flag retirement ceremony. This event also includes a family cookout and watching the Highlands city fireworks.
8. Back to the Pack Committee -- This event is usually held the Thursday after classes start in August and concludes our Summertime Program. Scouts compete in field and Scouting games.
9. Den Call Person -- Responsible for calling all parents in the den on an as needed basis such as providing reminders for a den special event. Also calls all parents in the den to get reservations for summer cookouts.
10. Den Parent -- Some den leaders have found it useful to have a rotating den parent who is responsible for helping with the den meeting. This should be strongly considered if you are the only den leader for your den. Dens cannot meet without 2 registered leaders present or one registered leader and one parent.
