Pack 207 – Stages of Cub Scouts

 

Tigers  -- The Tiger Cub program is for boys who are in the first grade (or 7 years old) and an adult partner. The Tiger Cub program is the first exposure to Cub Scouts.  The boy and his adult partner form a Tiger Cub Team. 5 to 8 teams make up a Tiger Cub den. Adult partners take turns leading den meetings with the help of a Tiger Cub Den Leader. The Tiger Cub attends all meetings as a team with his adult partner.

 

 

Bobcat --The Bobcat rank is the basic badge earned in Cub Scouts.  A Scout must earn the Bobcat badge before earning any other badge no matter when they begin Scouts. The Bobcat rank shows the basic knowledge of Cub Scouts.

 

 

Wolf --The Wolf Cub program is for boys who have completed first grade ( or 8 years old). The Den Leader and / or Assistant Den Leader run the den meetings. The Den Leader guides the Wolf den through the Wolf Trail. The Wolf Trail is made up of achievements that work toward the Wolf Badge and Arrow Points.

 

 

Bear  -- The Bear Cub Scout programs if for boys who have completed second grade (or 9 years old). The Bear Scout also earns achievements much like the Wolf. With each step the Scout is learning more about themselves, their relationships, the community around them, etc. The Bear badge is earned along with Arrow Points.

 

 

 

Webelos -- The Webelos Scout program is for boys who have completed the third grade (or 10 years old). The Webelos stage of Scouting is broken into 2 years, Webelos I and Webelos II. The achievements are Activity Pins instead of Arrow Points.The Webelos Scout is working for further independence in preparation for the Boy Scouting program. Webelos is a bridge from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. The Webelos badge is earned along with activity pins.

 

Arrow of Light -- The Arrow of Light is the highest rank achieved in Cub Scouting. This is a sign that a boy had completed all of the requirements for Cub Scouting and is ready to move on the Boy Scouts.
