Healing

Healing

"Unction is the rite of anointing the sick with oil, or the laying on of hands, by which God's grace is given for the healing of spirit, mind, and body."
The Book of Common Prayer (1979)

The Christian life is not immune to suffering, but it is never without hope. In the sacrament of Healing, we bring our wounds—of body, mind, and spirit—into the presence of Christ, the one who bears our pain and brings new life from it.

Each Wednesday at 12:00 noon, we offer a Healing Eucharist at Incarnation. This simple, beautiful service includes prayers for healing, anointing with oil, and the laying on of hands. It is a time to seek comfort, courage, and the deep peace that only Christ can give.

Healing is not always a cure, but it is always a promise: that we are never alone, and that even in weakness, God is drawing us into the mystery of wholeness.

Should you need the ministry of a priest at a time of crisis or emergency, please contact the parish office to be directed to one of the clergy.
